The end of the world is coming! At least that is the perspective of leading prophecy scholar, Hal Lindsey, whose “The Late Great Planet Earth” gave birth to the modern prophecy movement in evangelical Christianity. According to Lindsey, the Palestinian Liberation Organization financed the war by Hamas on Israel. In his estimation, Israel is simply acting out of self-defense. The ongoing raids by Israel into Gaza have been a response to the shots fired into Israel that have been going on for years. Lindsey believes that Israel will continue to be the focus of the nations of the world and that this conflict will eventually draw in those nations into an all-out conflict known as “Armageddon.” The point that he makes is that Hamas is merely a puppet regime put in place by Iran. So what it actually boils down to is the fact that Iran cannot openly attack Israel without drawing the United States into the conflict. Instead, Iran uses Hamas as a way to attack Israel without doing so directly. The intent is to turn the world’s opinion against Israel.
